How to Print Your Notebooks
How to upload your files
If you are creating a staple bound or wiro bound notebook, please send your cover print file as a single PDF containing all pages in order, including the outside front cover, inside front cover, inside back cover and outside back cover. Please ensure that all pages are provided as single pages, not spreads.
If you are creating a perfect bound or hardback notebook, please send 2 print file PDFs. A Cover File should contain your front cover design, spine and back cover design as a single spread, while the Interior File should contain the inside pages of your notebook.
The maximum file size is 2GB. If your file is larger than 2GB, please contact our team via WhatsApp and we will assist you with the file submission process. Please also ensure that all fonts are embedded in your PDF file.

Grid, Lined, Dotted or Blank Notebooks
You do not need to provide designs for your inner pages. Simply choose from our selection of preset grid, lined, dotted or blank page designs to create your perfect Notebook.
Colour
For best results, we recommend creating your artwork in CMYK Colour with 300dpi image resolution. Please be aware that uploaded RGB files will be converted to CMYK by our system, which may change some colours.
Black text should be set up with 100% black only to achieve the clearest printed text. If you are printing in greyscale, please set your artwork to greyscale prior to upload.
Cover
For saddle stitched and wiro bound notebooks, your cover consists of four pages in your print file PDF in order with the other pages (outside front cover, inside front cover, 3, 4, 5, etc, inside back cover, outside back cover).
Perfect bound notebooks require a Cover file PDF of 2 spreads (Outer cover and Inner cover with spine). Case bound notebooks require a Cover file PDF which must include an outer spread of your front cover, spine with 5mm hinges either side and back cover design, all surrounded by a 20mm bleed area.
If you choose to laminate your cover, only the outer spread will be laminated.
Bleed
For all notebooks, we ask for a 3mm bleed on each page and a 3mm quiet area inside of the edges of your page designs. Please refrain from adding important content to this area. We also recommend increasing the quiet area on the binding edge of your inner pages depending on the binding type. 5mm for perfect bound, 8mm for hardback and 12mm for wiro bound.
Binding
We have 4 binding options available for notebooks, including saddle stitched or stapled, perfect bound, wiro bound and hardback. Please keep in mind that binding options may depend on the number of pages in your notebook. With too few pages, you may be limited to saddle stitched, whereas too many pages might require perfect bound.
Spine for Perfect Bound Hardback
If you choose perfect bound or hardback for your notebook, you will need to include a spine in your cover design. We’ll calculate the spine width for you and display it in your shopping cart, so you can be sure to create the proper size print file. We do not ask for a separate Spine file. Please include your spine design in a spread as part of your Cover file.
Completing your order
Please ensure that you upload artwork in the correct size and with the correct number of pages before ordering. You can only add pages in multiples of 4, so if you do not have enough content then you must add blank pages.

The fastest printing for Notebooks is only 2-3 days. Please ensure you make payment and confirm artwork before 12:00 PM. Delay in payment AND artwork confirmation may result in later completion of the order. The printing process will only commence upon receipt of confirmation.
Depending on the quantity you order, we use either digital or offset printing methods. Regardless of the method, we employ the latest technology to ensure the best print quality for your Notebook.
All our orders are shipped in neatly wrapped cardboard boxes.

The best format for any print file is PDF. If not available, you can also send files in JPEG, EPS, TIFF, or AI formats.
We offer many types of notebook binding. Saddle Stitched (aka:Staple Bound) is when pages are held together by 2 staples through the middle of the notebook. Perfect Bound (aka: PUR) is when pages are glued together against a flat spine. Wiro Bound (aka: Wire Bound) is when holes are punched in your papers and they’re held together by a loop of wire. Case Bound (aka: Hardback) is when a hardback cover is attached to pages glued together against a flat spine.

ARTWORK PREPARATION
Notebook
During the production of paper products, slight cutting imperfections are to be expected – cutting can be off by a couple of millimeters from the cutting line. To allow leeway for such imperfections, you should add 3 mm of bleed on all edges of your artwork. Make sure all colors, background pictures, and elements extend to the edge of the bleed area, to avoid the appearance of white borders on certain edges after cutting. To ensure that no important elements (text, graphics, images) get cut off from your paper product, make sure to keep such elements at least 3 mm away from the edge of your finished product dimensions. Click here to know how to set up 3 mm safety margin.
Except for silkscreen and pad printing, files should be prepared in CMYK colour mode. Keep in mind that if the setup is wrong, colours on the finished product may differ from the file you sent. Here is how to set your artwork to CMYK colour mode in Adobe Illustrator.
To avoid blurriness, use only images and graphics that have a resolution of 300 DPI or more at actual size. Before sending your files, make sure to embed your images into the file. Read more about how to check the resolution of your assets.
When setting up grey elements, set the black color (K) to a percentage between 0 and 100, and keep all other colors (C, M, and Y) equal to 0%.
When setting up black text, thin lines and small elements, use pure black, (i.e. C = 0, M = 0, Y = 0, K = 100). Text, thin lines, and small elements in pure black color should be set to overprint to avoid white gaps around the text. It will give a solid edge to those elements.
If lines are 2 pt thick or less, use only 1 or 2 colours. 4 colours may be used for thicker lines.
To avoid issues with fonts when submitting your file(s), make sure to convert fonts to outlines, or to embed all fonts when saving to PDF.
The best format for submitting print-ready files is PDF, under the PDF/X-1a standard. Where possible, submit your files in PDF format. See why PDF/X-1a is the right format for printing.
Make sure that no elements are set on overprint, unless you need them to be.
